Christchurch is Action Packed

If you’re an adrenaline junkie then planning to spend some time in Christchurch and nearby Queenstown is a must! While visiting Christchurch why not catch a scenic flight from one of the many operators in the area. There are a range of flights available from short, 15 minutes flights over the city, to longer flights over Banks Peninsula and even to Mt Cook and the glaciers of the West Coast. You can combine a helicopter ride with jet boating on the Waimakariri River. Better still why not combine the scenic beauty of Canterbury with a balloon flight in the best traditions of the most adventurous of aviators. What better way to see the whole of the Canterbury region, from the coast to the Alps, than in the peace and tranquility of your balloon floating peacefully, suspended high above the ground.

If you are a little more adventurous you can combine your desire for a high perspective view on the world with the adrenalin rush of a 30 second free-fall parachute jump. After your free-fall you’ll have around 15 minutes to admire the view before landing in Hagley Park right in the heart of Christchurch. Where else in the world can you get a "Central City Rush" like that?

There are a multitude of things to do around Christchurch which can be done either individually in the space of a morning or afternoon or, alternatively, you can tack two or more together to create a very rewarding day out. Finding suitable Christchurch accommodation should not be a problem. There is a range of hotels, motels and hostels for all tastes and budgets. So next time you holiday in New Zealand, ensure you include Christchurch in your travel itenerary, it will be an experience you will never forget!
